New Music Tuesday....

Slow week compared to last week

Nothing really all that exciting this week either.....

Any Girl - LLoyd Banks F. Lloyd
Mediocre rap track over great beat

The Only Exception - Paramore
Sounds like an Avril track and that's that not a good thing

Who Dat - J. Cole
Rocafella's newest artist, great rap but give the man some beats

Sex Room - Ludacris
Sounds like old Ginuwine

Super High - Rick Ross F. NeYo

Slow summer rap, not into it, but Neyo on hook makes the song listenable

Leave Right Now - Will Young
This guy won Idol in Britain as I recall, decent acoustic ditty

In the all covers category...
Beth - Glee Cast
Beautiful Day - Lee Dewyze
Hallelujah - Lee Dewyze
Up The Mountain - Crystal Bowersox

Summertime Jams.....

#nowplaying

Power - Kanye
He comes out from hibernation dropping rhymes in a song about his "escape" since the Beyonce incident

California Gurls - Katy Perry F. Snoop
Ridiculous beat, the I could rap over with catchy lyrics, it's a summer anthem

Not Afraid - Eminem
The man himself his back reminding us of why he was so great to begin with

Find Your Love - Drake
Ridiculous video and great track, album finally comes out next week, can he go platinum first week, I say yes

Getting Over You - David Guetta F. Fergie & LMFAO
Guetta at his best, this remix is a rare artists collaboration that works

Cooler Than Me - Mike Posner
Duke grad is on Warped Tour this summer and this is why

Neutron Star Collison - Muse
Starts off a piano (Queen-esque), features scenes from Twilight, great track

I Like It - Enrique F. PitBull
An interesting pairing, but I'm a big fan of PitBull and this song is a summer one sure to be around for a bit

#onradio....

Can't Be Tamed - Miley Cyrus
Miley tries to grow up, will be massive on radio, song alone isn't bad

Dream On / I Dreamed A Dream / Jessie's Girl / Bad Romance - Glee
This show is taking over, charted 5 new songs last week, I get it, but don't really wanna hear it on the radio

Touching On My - 3!OH3
Sounds like bad white rap, although chorus was made for DJ to stop the tracks in the club

#onyourradionotmine

My First Kiss - 3!OH3 F. Kesha
It's my a jingly summer one that will take off in the tween crowds

Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold
Never been a fan, but perfect hockey "skate-in" song

WooHoo - Christina F. Nicky Minaj
Interesting sound, the mediocre dance music she's been pumping out for years without her vocals

Somebody To Love - Justin Bieber
Glad to see the kid make a song on his own, still no good

Pyramid - Charice F. Iyaz
Iyaz is the new Nate Dogg, so the hook is there, but the rest of track isn't

Free - Zac Brown Band
Not a country fan, but for the OAR of country I'm usually in, but this track is a slower one

Hold You - Gyptian
Jamaican reggae music and I honestly don't know what the lyrics even say, solid beat though

New Music Tuesday

Blah Blah Blah - Ke$ha featuring 3OH!3
Your Love Is My Drug - Ke$ha
Take It Off - Ke$ha
This girl is taking over by riding Lady Gaga's coattails in regard to her sound, also it appears that dance music is now becoming more and more mainstream, she charted 3 songs this week off her album that came out on the 5th, Blah Blah Blah has staying power

Drop The World - Lil Wayne F. Eminem
Starts off slow in classic, slo-motion Lil Wayne style, Eminem's rhymes are back and make this song worthwhile

Love This Pain - Lady Antebellum
A country ditty in anticipation of her album coming out next week, not a big country fan

Say Something - Timberland F. Drake
Similar to the Lil' Wayne track, Drake steals this song, but song is overall mediocre

New Albums This Week

• Spoon
• Crazy Heart Soundtrack
• Grammy Nominees 2010
• Eels
• Motion City Soundtrack

New Music

RECOMMEND Doesn't Mean Anything - Alicia Keys
Back and just as talented as she use to be

RECOMMEND Medicate - AFI
Not saying you should tale drugs, but you'll like the song

Taking Chances - Glee Cast
OK cover, Idol's Kara DiGourdi did a better one although she wrote it which is impressive

RECOMMEND Wheels - Foo Fighters
Slower more commerically viable track from a louder band

Red Light - David Nail
New country artist with a mediocre country song

RECOMMEND Manhattan - Kings of Leon
The hits keep coming for TN's finest, if you don't own the album buy it already

Bad Habits - Maxwell
Suprised he's still around, after listening to song even more suprised

Slow Poison - The Bravery
Too much keyboard for a rock song for me

RECOMMEND Funhouse - Pink
A jingly new one that'll get played in the radio and clubs

Crawl Back In - Dead By Sunrise
Linkin Park's Chester side project, mediocre, stick to Linkin Park for their beats

Bonfire - Craig Morgan
Another reason why I'm coming around to country, very Big &Rich sounding track

New Albums This Week
Michael Buble
Toby Keith
Roseanne Cash
Brandi Carlile
Tokio Hotel

New Music Tuesday (sort of)

Live Like Were Dying - Kris Allen
Best version of "heartless" and his first single is upbeat and catchy

3 - Britney Spears
Classic Britney dancetrack about 3 in the the bed (and the little one said)

I Can Transform Ya - Chris Brown
Horrible comeback song, he'll sell (R. Kelly) did just not with this one

I'm Going In - Drake F. Lil Wayne
Southern rap, not a fan

Happy - Leona Lewis
Slow upbeat track off album #2

Pursuit of Happiness - Kid Cudi F. MGMT
Too slow of a dance track, can't wait for remix though

RECOMMEND La La La - LMFAO
Love this track, now it's their new single

I Want To Know What Love Is - Mariah Carey
Girl still has pipes (and curves)

We Weren't Born To Follow - Bon Jovi

Baby By Me - 50 Cent F. Ne-yo
Funny hook only an OK songs

Great band, song off Twilight soundtrack

Blood On My Hands - The Used
Dark song, but another great NHL skate-in song

Substitution - Silversun Pickups
Solid song, but not wowing anybody

If You Only Knew - Shinedown
Sounds too much like Nickelback and not that's not a good thing for me

Monster - Skillet
Definition of a loud angry rock song

RECOMMEND Take A Bow - Glee Cast
Another great cover from FOX's new show

RECOMMEND Young Forever - Jay-Z + Mr. Hudson
Yes, another cover but it's Jay-Z so what's not to like here

Break - Three Days Grace
Too loud for my ears

Two Is Better Than One - Boys Like Girls F. Taylor Swift
Kept waiting for tempo to pick it up but it never did

The Fixer - Pearl Jam
1901 - Phoenix
Fireflies - Owl City
Uprising - Muse
Use Somebody - Kings Of Leon
Toes - Zac Brown Band
Never Say Never - The Fray

New Music

Albums
The Blueprint 3 - Jay-Z
This wil be the 11th solo #1 breaking record for him breaking Elvis record, pretty impressive for a kid from the Mecry Projects, ridiculous beats from the world's best producers, plus guest spots from Kanye, Alicia Keys, Drake, and more make this album a must have

Backspacer - Pearl Jam
Limited edition import only album that from what I can tell was made with Europe in mind as not much has been on the radio about the album except "The Fixer" which is a ridiculous track

Songs (Big week as the VMA's and back to school are an oppurtune time to drop new music)
I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benhjamins
Songs from the Bruce Willis movie "Surrogates" is sure to be heard on a bunch of previews is a decent rock song but not a must hear

Paparazzi - Lady Gaga
Sure to get a ton of play after her VMA performance this Sunday but it's really not a great song, sounds like she's trying to channel an electric dance song from Madonna which probably isn't a good thing

LOL :-) - Trey Songz
Amazing this song is getting play, almost worth one spin for a good laugh and that's it, the sad part is the beat is pretty decent but a whole song on LOL what will they think of next?

RECOMMEND Haven't Met You Yet - Michael Buble
A true talent and great song, could be off a Jason Mraz album and I meant that in a good way

Runaway - Love and Theft
Country song from a new band that sounds really good for you country fans to enjoy

Shake My - Three Six Mafia F. Kalenna
Guaranteed to be played in every club this week as it a has solid beat and chorus to shake my "ask"

Replay - Iyaz
Nice slow tempo R&B track that Neyo & Usher fans will truly enjoy

RECOMMEND Fireflies - Owl City
Songs has been on KROQ for awhile but now is mainstream should be around for awhile

Body Language - Jesse McCartney F. T-Pain
I can't believe I just typed that and the scarier part is the song a actually pretty catchy

RECOMMEND The Fixer - Pearl Jam
Best new rock song out this week, hands down, listen for yourself

Do I - Luke Bryan
A nice country piano ballad about a relationship that lost its "magic"

Under - Pleasure P
Ginuwine sounding like slow R&B track is just OK

Number One - R. Kelly
Classic R. Kelly track from his "Down Low" days

RECOMMEND Startstruck - 3OH!3 F. Katy Perry
Another track that'll get mad play for catchy, jingly chorus and of course Katy Perry

Face Drop - Sean Kingston
I like the kid just not on this track

Million Dollar Bill - Whitney Houston
Can still sing after all these years, I really wonder how big she'd be if she didn't fall into drugs

New Music Tuesday

Some music as we eagerly await The Blueprint 3 to be legally released and Beatles Rock Band next week...

Albums

Phish - "Joy" is their first new material from everybody's favorite jam band since 2004, much like my thoughts on many TV shows if you are into it enjoy

PitBull - "Rebelution" is everybody's favorite dancehall reggae artist is back with more and more of the same but I'm loving the first single "Room Service" for now

Whitney Houston -"I Look To You" is her comeback album but I don't think the market has a place for her in the single/club music oriented world we live in today but hey she owned the 80's

Songs

"I Want You To" - Weezer
Classic Weezer song that a great summer driving song with a catchy beat and chorus

"Drop It Low" - Ester Dean F. Chris Brown
First song from Chris Brown since he one bad night with Rihanna that sounds like a Lil' Jon song but has him on the chorus to save the song from purely bad Southern rap

"Forever" - Drake F. Eminem, Kanye, and Lil' Wayne
Coming all over the radio to you very soon as the hottest new rapper out gets with 3 of the best rappers of all-time, you'll hear it soon and often

"Check My Brain" - Alice in Chains
Still pumping out new music 15 years later and a shout-out to California makes this a surefire KROQ hit

"Cowboy Casanova" - Carrie Underwood
This song was supposed to come out in a month but thanks to leak it'll be on country radio this week and should get onto top 40 really soon as well for a song that reminds me of "baseball bat" song

"Imma Star" - Jerimih
Guy's not there yet as a star but this song will him get there slowly as its radio-friendly beat should keep it out for a bit

"Stronger" - Mary J Blige
Song from Lebron's new movie soundtrack (that's not a typo) that is too slow for me

"Need You Now" - Lady Antebellum
Country song about those accidental late night break-ups that is just kinda there

"Ramping Shop" - Vybz Cartel
Reggae song set to the same beat as Ne-Yo's "Miss Independent" so the song is in court but it's sure to get some club play is its an easy loop for DJ's across the country

New Music Tuesday

First off, condolences to DJ AM's family. Adam you had a true talent to make any night a great one. You will be missed in LA, Vegas, and anywhere you spun.

Songs

Celebration - Madonna
She's back with a dance track that sounds like something out of her older stuff but it's Madonna so it'll play in the clubs and her fans will grab it

Uprising - Muse
Great intro and rock beat, I can see this song it tons of video montages the next few months or a hockey skate in song

Party in The USA - Miley Cirus
So I missed this one a few weeks ago, great summerific song that's beyond catchy, nice to have writers and people on instruments when you are a billion dollar franchise

I'm Alive - Kenny Chesney & Dave Matthews
The biggest artists on tour get together for a track, track is mellow and slo but it'll be all over country radio 'cause it's Chesney

Whatcha Say - Jason DeRulo
Another mediocre rap/dance song to waste time on the dial

Only Way You Can Love Me - Keith Urban
Good track, imagine some peeps in Nashville will have their first dance to this song in the upcoming months

Outside My Window - Sarah Buxton
The $80 music video with a cute girly song taht you Colbie Caillat fans will enjoy

House of Daggers - Raekwon, Ghostface, & Method Man
Wow! Wu-Tang Clan isn't back per say but at least reminds me of their heyday, would be all over radio if they played real rap, summer driving anthem although I'm not responsible for any speeding tickets

One Day - Matisyahu
Your Jewish like me and I loved your first album, but this song is underwhelming if that's even a word

Albums

Persona - Queen Latifah
Let Jamie Foxx and Will Smith be the true triple-threats, I'm out on this one

Artwork - The Used
The band seemed to disappear for a bit, but I wanted them be back just not so hard I need my hearing for shuffleboard in the old age home later in life

Rabbit - Collective Soul
Can't believe they are still around, but hey more power to them

Shaka Rock - Jet
I'm in on this one, love this band and you should be too, they aren't just some band they play in beer commericals

Props to Jay-Z on his $50 a seat 9-11 show at MSG

New Music Tuesday (sort of)

Third Eye Blind "Ursa Major" - first new album in 6 years, boy I missed these guys, it's all over the Internet after a big leak, it wasn't me but I'm glad I got to hear it

Arctic Monkey "Humbug" - this is probably the best band you never heard of, their first album is one of the top 10 rock albums of the decade as I recall they outsold the Beatles in England but for some reason never really caught on here

Colbie Caillat "Breakthrough" - more of the same love song, girl goodnesss (Yes I just said that, what's she's talented makes songs for girls)

Matisyahi - a jewish reggae artist that if you haven't heard of you should check out

Songs
So Fine - Sean Paul sounds just like himself I'm over the dancehall reggae but if your not you'll love this track

I Look To You - Whitney Houston she's back after 7 years and now is the time for her as hopefully she can fill a niche on the radio with those ridiculous pipes

Harry Patch - Radiohead leave it to them to release a orchestra track but if anybody can do it they can

New Music Tuesday (sort of)

It's not a busy week again for CD's as George Strait's new album came out today and not much else. If you like Ashley Tisdale for anything more than her looks her one is out and is you still around Sugar Ray drops this week too.

A few new tracks:

Welcome to The Future - Brad Paisley
Good upbeat summer country song, I like his acoustic slower stuff personally

Love Drunk - Boys Like Girls
Ashley Tisdale in the video, good thing because the song is mediocre

Maybe - Ingrid Michaelson
Good girly guitar music

Holy Are You - Rakim
The man can still rhyme after all the years, but unfortunately for him the radio won't play this song

Run This Town - Kanye, Rihanna, and Jay-Z
This militant sounding song will be on the radio the next month as Jay-Z returns (again) for The Blueprint 3

New Music "Tuesday"

In the past when people bought albums, Tuesday was a big day. I know it's Wednesday but my first week is a day ahead of schedule. Tuesday will be my new music today moving forward. With the huge growth of the Internet the music industry has shifted to a singles, ringtone, and touring model. The album is lost. How many times have you listened to an entire album in the past few years ? I'll try do this post every Tuesday to highlight to albums but I feel it'll be skewed to singles.

New Albums

Modest Mouse - from the band that had such its as "Float On"comes to their new EP, the video for "Rat King" is anti-whaling animated video inspired by Heath Ledger, haven't heard it yet but I've always liked this band

New Tracks

Down - Jay Sean F. Lil Wayne
This song is the definition of a summer Miami dance song, it'll be all over the clubs in no time. Also, I feel bad whoever is Lil' Wayne's agent assistant who has to book him out to work on every song on the radio. The man is a machine.

Make Her Say - Kid Cudi F. Kanye & Common
From the guy who brought you "Day & Nite", he's back with a new single. It's a decent beat and Kanye's verse is good too. The song is a rap version of Weird Al song was the rappers mock alot of songs out on the radio.

Toes - Zac Brown Band
ATL is representing again with another Kenny Chesneysound a like track. If you are into that type of music, you'll enjoy it. Chicken Fry is still a great track.

United States of Eurasia - Muse
This song wreaks of Queen, I imagine the acoustic and stripped down version will be ridiculous.

Set Your Goals - Few That Remain
Too loud for my ears.

Weightless - All Time Low
Best new track this week, you might have heard it on KROQ

Good Girls Go Bad - Cobra Starship F. Leighton Meester
So I watched the Youtube just for everybody's favorite gossip girl and the song is actually prety good. Leighton is coming out with own CD soon that sounds just like Britney's latest album.

Sexy B*tch - David Guetta
Wow my first curse in the blogosphere. Song is will get play in the clubs for a bit and fade.

One Time - Justin Bieber
Some Canadian kid blows up on YouTube, gets Usher in his video, and probably can't even drive. This is one is for you Zac Efron fans.

Fugitive - David Gray
"Babylon" is back and this is why you love him. Hopefully he can in the limelight a little longer with his comeback album
